Christmas by brother Don Dec 14, 2025 13:55

This sermon reflects on the true meaning of Christmas—not just the joy and wonder, but also the chaos and disruption that came with it. We look at the birth of Jesus, threatened by King Herod’s fear and pride, and the birth of John, preceded by the silence of his father Zechariah, who was made mute until God’s promise was fulfilled. In the midst of uncertainty and noise, we are reminded of six guiding principles that help us navigate both the holy and the hectic: 1. God is sovereign – His plans prevail, even when the world seems out of control. 2. Obey immediately – Like Mary and Joseph, who responded without delay to God’s call. 3. Listen to God and not those around you – Trust His voice above the crowd. 4. Hold on loosely – Be willing to let go of your own plans to embrace His. 5. Speak the truth – Even when it’s uncomfortable, like John who prepared the way. 6. Make room for Jesus – In your heart, your home, and your daily life. May this message stir our hearts to recognize that even in chaos, God is working. And may we respond with faith, obedience, and a renewed desire to make room for Jesus this Christmas.
