Pastor Don shared a powerful message from the book of Jeremiah about the plans the Lord has for His people—plans filled with hope, purpose, and a future. We opened the service with a beautiful song that traced the red thread of Jesus through the entire Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, reminding us how every book ultimately points to Him.

This sermon reflects on the true meaning of Christmas—not just the joy and wonder, but also the chaos and disruption that came with it. We look at the birth of Jesus, threatened by King Herod’s fear and pride, and the birth of John, preceded by the silence of his father Zechariah, who was made mute until God’s promise was fulfilled.
In the midst of uncertainty and noise, we are reminded of six guiding principles that help us navigate both the holy and the hectic:
1. God is sovereign – His plans prevail, even when the world seems out of control.
2. Obey immediately – Like Mary and Joseph, who responded without delay to God’s call.
3. Listen to God and not those around you – Trust His voice above the crowd.
4. Hold on loosely – Be willing to let go of your own plans to embrace His.
5. Speak the truth – Even when it’s uncomfortable, like John who prepared the way.
6. Make room for Jesus – In your heart, your home, and your daily life.
May this message stir our hearts to recognize that even in chaos, God is working. And may we respond with faith, obedience, and a renewed desire to make room for Jesus this Christmas.

Hebrews 13 is the closing chapter of the letter, filled with practical encouragements for Christian living:
• Love and hospitality: Believers are urged to continue in brotherly love, show hospitality to strangers, and remember those in prison or suffering.
• Purity and faithfulness: Marriage should be honored, and lives kept free from immorality and greed, trusting that God will never leave nor forsake His people.
• Respect for leaders: The chapter calls for respect and obedience to spiritual leaders who watch over the flock.
• Steadfast faith: Christians are reminded that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever, and should not be led astray by strange teachings.
• Sacrifices of praise: Instead of animal sacrifices, believers are to continually offer praise to God and do good, sharing with others.
• Final blessing: The writer closes with a prayer that God, through Jesus, equips His people to do His will, and with words of encouragement and grace.

Generosity is God’s command.
He calls us to give freely, not only to bless others but also to break the power of selfishness in our own hearts. When we choose to be generous, we reflect His love and allow Him to shape us into people who live for others, not just for ourselves. True generosity is a pathway to freedom and joy. 🌱✨

Hebrews 9 contrasts the old covenant rituals with the new covenant through Christ. It explains how the earthly tabernacle and repeated sacrifices could not fully cleanse the conscience. In contrast, Christ entered the heavenly sanctuary once for all, offering His own blood to secure eternal redemption. His sacrifice cleanses us inwardly and fulfills the promise of a new covenant.

Hebrews 8 explains that Jesus is our high priest in heaven, serving in the true sanctuary made by God. It introduces a new covenant—better than the old one—because it’s based on better promises. This covenant is written on hearts, offering forgiveness and a close relationship with God. The old covenant is now outdated and fading away.
